Renovations

When our oven finally stopped working, we decided to replace it, rather than repair it. This seeming-ly simple decision has now led us down the rabbit hole of renovation as we realised we actually need to replace our entire kitchen. We don't have that kind of money just sitting in our bank ac-count, so while my husband works on the plans, I'm working on the finance, looking at various personal loans to find one which suits our needs.

Initial Options

When I thought we were just going to have to replace the oven, I looked into those fast cash loans you see advertised on the TV. As we only needed to borrow a small amount in that case, these quick personal loans would have been ideal. I'd have been able to borrow the money and pay it back over a couple of months. Now our renovation costs have increased, I need to look for more suitable options.

Meeting The Bank

I made an appointment with the bank this and we looked at unsecured personal loans.

These loans allow us to borrow more money than we would if we were to take out one of those small personal loans. We agreed on an amount and interest rate and I submitted our application.

The manager says we should hear back by the end of the week, and the cash will be transferred to our account.

Repayments

I don't know how people can save up for things like a kitchen renovation. Between our mortgage repayments and the kids' school fees, there's not a lot leftover for home improvement. I'm certain that we have the income to repay our cash loans, I'm just hoping that the bank agrees so we can finally get started on our new kitchen.
